- Air force pilot Wing Commander Tarun Chaudhri becomes the first IAF pilot to do a wing suit skydive jump. He achieved the feat on the Kargil Diwas celebrations at Air Force Station in Jodhpur.

- With the aim of providing national food security, government has started a pilot project called One nation one ration card scheme. These microdot patches are identifiable with an ultraviolet light source only.
