- National Tourism Day is celebrated on 25 January. The day aims to raise awareness about the importance of tourism for the country’s economy. India offers tourism in the fields of natural, cultural, heritage, sports, rural, medical, educational, business, cruise, and eco-tourism form.
- Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sunil Arora assumed Chairmanship of the Forum of the Election Management Bodies of South Asia (FEMBoSA) on 24 January for the year 2020. India took over the Chair of FEMBoSA from K M Nurul Huda, CEC of Bangladesh. Mr. Huda handed over the Logo of FEMBoSA to Mr. Arora at the 10th Annual Meeting of FEMBoSA held in New Delhi 24 January.
- Article 12 to 35 contained in Part III of the Constitution deal with Fundamental Rights. These are Right to equality, including equality before the law, the prohibition of discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth, and equality of opportunity in matters of employment.
- The Constitution of India has allotted special provisions for the administration of four states namely Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram, which are tribal-dominated areas. As per article 244 and 6th Schedule of the Constitution, these areas are called “Tribal Areas”. The 6th schedule deals with the administration of Tribal areas in Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram.
- Article 326 of the Indian constitution states that no person can be denied the right to vote if he fulfills the need for Adult Suffrage, that is, the person must be above the age of 18. The Right to Vote is not mentioned in the Part-3 of the constitution and hence it is a constitutional right and not a fundamental right.
- Radha Krishna Mathur is a retired 1977 batch IAS officer of Tripura cadre is the first Lieutenant Governor of the union territory of Ladakh. He retired as the Chief Information Commissioner of India in November 2018.

- Ministry of Tribal Affairs has proposed to declare the 6th Schedule Area status to Ladakh. The proposal was made by the Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda. The Ministry is taking all necessary measures to preserve and enrich the rich legacy of Ladakh.
- The Kargil War, also known as the Kargil conflict, was an armed conflict between India and Pakistan that took place between May and July 1999 in the Kargil district of Kashmir and elsewhere along the Line of Control.
- The National Voters Day marks the foundation day of the Election Commission of India (ECI). ECI was founded on 25 January 1950. The day was first observed on 25 January 2011
