- Delhi Assembly is hosting a three-day Commonwealth Youth Parliament from November 25, 2019. The Youth Parliament will have over 47 participants from 24 Commonwealth countries including 11 participants from India. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will be the Chief Guest of the event.
- Michael Bloomberg, CEO and owner of Bloomberg L.P., a global financial service, announced on November 25, 2019 that he would be running for US Presidential Elections 2020. He joins the 17 Democrat candidates who would be looking to compete with Donald Trump. Bloomberg said that he cannot afford another four years of Trump.
- Uttar Pradesh government has launched a massive immunisation campaign against the filariasis or Filaria. The Union government has set the year 2021 as the deadline for complete eradication of filaria in country.
- Swedish citizen Greta Thunberg was recently honoured with the International Children’s Peace Prize. She launched a global campaign called ‘School Strike’ for which she was given this award.
- Indian badminton player Lakshya Sen has established new milestone of success for Indian players by winning the title of men’s singles competition in the Scottish Open competition. Lakshya Sen is just 18 years old and had achieved the first position in the junior rankings in 2017.
- The Sangai festival is the cultural annual festival of the Manipur. Its purpose is to present the state as a world class tourist destination. This festival is held in different parts of Manipur.
- The book ‘Finding the Gaps’, written by cricket umpire Simon Taufel, was recently released. He has written about many aspects related to cricket life in front of the readers.
- Sumatran rhinoceros have reportedly gone extinct in Malaysia after the last survivor of the species in the nation passed away on November 23, 2019. The rhino named Iman died of natural causes. She was detected with uterine tumors since her capture in March 2014.
- A floating school project named ‘the Arcadia Education Project’ in Bangladesh has won the Aga Khan Architecture Award. The floating school, designed by internationally renowned architect of Bangladesh Saif Ul Haque has won many other prestigious awards as well for its unique and innovative concept.
- US Navy Secretary Richard Spencer has been fired by US Defence Secretary Mark Esper for his handling of a Navy Seal’s case. The case was related to Edward Gallagher, who was convicted for posing with a corpse in Iraq in 2017. The Navy Secretary had demoted Gallagher but President Donald Trump later reinstated his rank.
