1. The second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will be administered to the healthcare workers from 13th February 2021. The central government informed that 97 percent of people who have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine are satisfied.
2. The United States has extended the New START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) nuclear arms control treaty with Russia for another five years. This was announced by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who said that it made the world safer as unconstrained nuclear competition would endanger us all.
3. Ajay Singh has been re-elected as President of the Boxing Federation of India (BFI). He defeated former Maharashtra sports minister Ashish Shelar in the polls. Ajay Singh received 37 votes while Shelar got 27 votes in the BFI elections that were held on 3rd February 2021.

5. Reliance has sourced the world’s first consignment of ‘carbon-neutral oil’ from the United States. The move comes as the company looks to become a net zero-carbon company by 2035.
6. India’s first amputee clinic has been launched by the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. The clinic was formally inaugurated on February 1, 2021. It has been set up to improve the care of amputee patients by providing a wide range of services under one roof and with significant coordination.
7. Kerala’s Health Minister KK Shailaja announced that the state will open its first Human Milk Bank, a state-of-art facility, at the Ernakulum General Hospital on February 5, 2021.
8. India established its first centre for wetland conservation in Chennai on the occasion of Wetland Conservation Day on February 2, 2021. The wetlands occupy around 4.6 percent of the country’s landmass.
